Capt. Scott B. Spangler is the commander of North Marion Cadet Squadron in Citra, Florida at North Marion Middle School. He established command on 18 May 2015, starting a brand new unit at the middle school. Prior to his command he served at Marion County Composite Squadrons (FL-361) Professional Development Officer, Personnel Officer, Administrative Officer and aided in Cadet Programs. Capt. Spangler also serves as the Senior Advisor to the Florida Wing’s Group 2 Cadet Advisory Council. He specializes in Cadet Program special track and holds multiple other ratings in Professional Development, Administration, personnel and others.

   Originating from the Tampa Bay area, Florida where he was a cadet at Brandon Cadet Squadron, Apollo Beach Cadet Squadron, Venice Cadet Squadron, and SRQ Composite Squadron (when it transitioned to Composite from Senior). As a cadet he was one of the very first to earn the Ira C. Eaker award in 1995. Capt. Spangler then enlisted in to the Regular Army on 11 September 1998 as a Fire Support Specialist (Forward Observer for Artillery) and continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Sergeant First Class in a role as a Brigade Equal Opportunity Advisor out of St. Petersburg, FL. He has multiple deployments, most notability Iraq 2003 and Afghanistan in 2011-2012.
