The CAP safety mission is to minimize the risks faced by its membership in the performance of their volunteer duties.  The goal of the CAP Safety Program is protect both its members and its assets, by educating and training its members in order to promote the culture of safety within Civil Air Patrol.


Safety Education Requirements for all Members

All new cadet and senior members are required to complete the following training:


  • Introduction to Safety - The on-line Intro to CAP Safety presentation can be found 
  • Operational Risk Management (ORM) Familiarization 
    -Basic ORM
    -Intermediate ORM 

    -Advanced ORM
  • Monthly Safety Education - Members will participate in either an in-person or an electronic computer based safety briefing at least monthly.  Monthly in-person safety topics originate in the Official Safety Newsletter of Civil Air Patrol, the Safety Beacon.



All Online Safety Education can be completed by logging into eSERVICES, selecting the Safety Managment System (SMS) tab from the left menu bar and then selecting ONLINE SAFETY EDUCATION.
