WCCS AIRMAN ACADEMY MISSION
To provide new cadets with an exciting, comprehensive, and educationally sound introduction to the CAP Cadet Program, enabling them to succeed quickly. This academy is primarily geared for new Cadets working on their Curry Achievement. Cadets who participate actively in course activities and complete the usual requirements of Achievement 1 receive credit for completing the academy and a graduation certificate and (for those who need it) their Curry achievement.


ELIGIBILITY
Students:

- WCCS SQUADRON COMMANDER APPROVAL
***At this time, this course is MANDATORY for all of our Squadron's Cadets Grade Senior Airman & Below.*** 
- All cadets Senior Airman and Below are eligible to participate

Cadet cadre:
 The Academy Directors intent is to have the majority of the Academy taught and directed by Cadets. Cadet Officers and NCO's are essential to the Success of this Academy. Therefore; At the discretion of the Academy Director and Academy Cadet Commander, all Cadet Cadre participants will instruct courses. If interested in teaching a course please see your chain of command. 

- Must have completed the Wright Brothers Milestone
- Academy Cadet Commander Approval

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Cadets who attend FLA will find the instruction to greatly help them when performing leadership roles at their home squadrons and at other CAP activities.

REGION CADET LEADERSHIP SCHOOL (RCLS)

 Eaker Milestone Requirement.****

To all Phase III and Phase IV cadets, your attendance is requested at the Southeast Region Cadet Leadership School.  This school is an opportunity to learn higher levels of leadership will building relationships with senior level cadets from around the region.  Discover new skills that can be used to lead your fellow cadre as well as sharing your new knowledge with senior cadet non-commissioned officers.

ELIGIBILITY

- WCCS SQUADRON COMMANDER APPROVAL
- Phase III, Phase IV Cadets Only.

(Armstrong Achievement recipients who have taken one of their Mitchell exams have been accepted to the school on a case-by-case basis with Squadron Commander and Group Commander Approval)


REGION CADET Honor Academy

The mission of the Cadet Honor Academy program is to prepare cadets to serve on Color Guards and Honor Guards while simultaneously furthering their individual character development. By training cadets on the finer points of Air Force‐ style drill and ceremonies, the Cadet Honor Academy imparts timeless values of patriotism, community service, and personal honor

ELIGIBILITY

- WCCS SQUADRON COMMANDER APPROVAL*
- Must have completed the Curry Achievement
- Must have a full Service Dress Uniform (Cadet must have a Service Coat by the start of the Academy)
-  Competency in basic drill is a MUST (ie: Facings, flanks, columns, etc.)
- Completion of an encampment is not a pre-requisite

*Prior-Graduates may Apply as CADET CADRE.

FLORIDA WING CADET COMPETITION 2017

 Location: FL Youth Elks Camp
Dates: December 1st - 3rd, 2017

The Florida Wing Cadet Competition is an annual event that Cadet Color Guard Teams compete in to represent the Florida Wing at the Southeast Region Cadet Competition. The event consists of many areas of competition, from military drill performances to athletic challenges to academic evaluation.  Competition rules are set at the national level.

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES SELECTION BOARD

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

The Florida Special Activities Selection Board is an annual event intended to rank those cadets who are applying for a limited number of national summer activities, and International Air Cadet Exchange program slots. Cadets nominated for Cadet of the Year are also interviewed as part of the selection process.  Cadets can expect to take an exam, appear before a selection board, participate in a uniform inspection, and participate in a physical fitness evaluation.

 ELIGIBILITY

- There are no grade restrictions.  
- All cadets must have a complete Class B Blues Uniform
- Cadets 18 and over must have completed Cadet Protection Policy Training (CPPT).
- All members must be safety compliant.
- All Senior member escorts must have Squadron Commander Approval
- All Senior member escorts must have completed Level I and CPPT Training.
